From October 2011 till May 2012 GlazenHuis presented the ‘Glass match: Belgium – The Netherlands’. 11 glass artists and designers from Belgium were confronted with 11 glass artists and designers from The Netherlands. The Dutch team had been carefully selected by art coach Job Meihuizen while the Belgian eleven had been chosen by curator and artistic coordinator of the GlazenHuis, Jeroen Maes. In both teams three new talents, the nominees of the Bernardine De Neeve Glass Prize, were lined up. At the official opening on October 8, 2011 the winner Mariken Dumon was awarded with €5000.
