Hong Kong’s Kwun Lan Wong is doing her GlazenHuis residency through July 14, 2023. What’s her story? Kwun found the molten material of glass while finishing her Bachelor’s in Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University. She is currently finishing her study at the Southern Illinois University, majoring in glass. Over the past years Kwun Lan Wong is developing her hot sculpting skills in glass studios worldwide. GlazenHuis will be the first European glass studio she will work at.

Through her artistic practice Kwun is currently exploring an aspect of her identity that deals with her cultural background as a Hong Kong artist. She’d like to share the bitter and sweet of being a Honkongese, where searching for a sense of identity is always an unresolved issue.
