OPEN CALL: ASSISTANT ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
GlazenHuis is looking for a full-time assistant for the residency of Japanese glass artist Rinoi Imada. Rinoi will work 3-4 days a week in the hot glass studio. In addition, she will have access to the cold glass studio at all times.
We aim to select suitable candidates by July 16, 2023 at the latest.
Periods
- Period 1: August 1 – September 2, 2023
- Period 2: September 5 – October 5, 2023
Assistant offer
GlazenHuis will reimburse your transportation expenses and also offers a 1200 euro stippend and free lodging accommodation on site.
If you are interested, skilled in assisting in the hot glass studio and you have sufficient experience in cold working glass, please send in your application!

RINOI IMADA _Japan

Rinoi Imada from Tokyo is an interdisciplinary artist whose ideas are inspired by glass, utilizing glass as a material and thinking tools to create her works. Drawn from a curiosity in the rich subtlety of human experience, her practice takes in various sculptural relationships with glass and glass related processes to explore languages that are easily dismissed, ignored and unseen through our lifetime. Imada earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in Glass from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2021 and is continuing her career as a visual artist and a glass blower. She has received awards and residency opportunities from CSUSB, RIT, and Penland School of Craft in North Carolina in addition to others.
